The park will have two distinct pathways that reflect its new and the old parts. The paths will emanate from a new entrance at the south end of the park.
The eastern pathway will have as its model the Wild Adventures park that Kent Buescher owns in Valdosta, Ga., and it will be the location for most of the 36 rides that are being added to Cypress Gardens. They include four roller coasters, seven thrill rides, 11 children's rides, 12 family rides and two water rides.
The roller coasters include a suspended coaster and a wooden coaster. The water rides include what Buescher billed as the 'tallest rapids ride in the world.' The thrill rides include a 120-foot tower drop, and the family rides include a carousel, bumper cars and a Ferris wheel.
The park is set to open July 1, with a gate price of $26.95, that will rise to $34.95 next spring once the water park has been completed.
