Powder Keg, Silver Dollar City's newest roller coaster has been forced to close after an accident on Tuesday that resulted in 4 people being sent to hospital for observation.
The train was carrying 16 passengers, as it rolled into the station for unloading and bumped an empty, stationary train. The empty passenger train was traveling at 3 mph. Some passengers did not even realize there had been a bump.
A state inspector said the roller coaster needs some minor modifications to its brake system. Once those modifications are done, Powder Keg will be able to re-open.
