A 49-year-old woman from Germany died Wednesday after riding Walt Disney World's Mission:Space ride, located at Epcot. This is the second death in less than a year associated with the thrill ride.
The woman died at hospital, where she was taken Tuesday after becoming sick following the mock space flight at Epcot, according to a statement released late Wednesday by the theme park.
The ride reopened Thursday as inspectors found the ride to be operating properly.
The medical examiner's office said Friday in a preliminary report that the woman died from bleeding of the brain, and had severe, long-standing high blood pressure. The report did not mention any connection between the ride and the woman's death.
