I visisted this park on a Sunday evening in June and had plenty of time to enjoy the limited selection of rides. I did not go to the water park so the half day was all I needed. While it's true this park is limited on rides, it more than makes up for it with the two first class woodies. These rides alone are worth the trip. The food was of high quality and cheap and all soft drinks are free. This is the quintessential family owned amusement park and am glad I took the time to visit. It by far exceeded my expectations.

I visited Holiday World for the first time for Stark Raven Mad 2002. This was an excellent and well organised event - riding The Legend and Raven late at night during ERT was an unbelievable experience. The ride operators were all brilliant and so friendly. What is now my favorite coaster on the planet? - you've guessed it - 'The Legend'. Here's to next year!!!!

I visited holiday world the other day and it was the end of the day and i wanted to ride the raven one more time before they closed so we were on it and we went home the next day i seen on the news that some guest fell out of her seat and died on the raven and i found out that she was on it the same time as me. that kinda freaked me out. you can see about it on their official website. :( but all and all it was a great place: very clean, but could use more rides. steel coaster maybe. i liked splashing safari a lot but it was really cold to get in the water even though i did. brrrr.

I visited Holiday World in Summer of 2002 (can't remember exact date). I only got to Ride the Raven (which was great). I had hoped to ride all the rides for teens in the park... but ended up not getting there till 5:00pm, and they closed @ 8:00pm! we spent 2 hours in the waterpark and 1 hour in the theme park (which was all spent in line for the Raven). I would recamend riding the raven at around 5:00. i noticed that when we entered the park, the ride line only had about 20 people in line! I am planning a trip back there this year (summer 2003). holiday world is my favorite park! even compared to Kings Island. They have 2 of the worlds best wooden coasters! Holiday World really is a theme park! Id rate them with a: 9 out of 10

DEATH AT HOLIDAY WORLD: TAMAR FELLNER, 34 OF NEW YORK WAS KILLED ON THE RAVEN WOODEN COASTER AT HOLIDAY WORLD THEME PARK IN INDIANA. THE WAS SAID TO BE STANDING UP IN HER SEAT WHEN THE RIDE WAS IN MOTION. SHE FELL OUT OF THE CART ON THE 6TH HILL. SHE FELL DOWN THROUGH THE RAFTERS AND SUPPORTS THAT HOLDS THE TRACK UP! AND LANDED AT THE BOTTOM! SHE FELL FROM ABOUT 64 FEET! WARNING TO COASTER RIDERS: NEVER, NEVER STAND UP ON A ROLLERCOASTER!

Holiday World and Splashin Safari, In my opinion, Are the best parks in the midwest.. Even Compared to Kings Island or Kentucky Kingdom. That could be because im a Woodie fan. And Holiday Wolrl has 2 of the best Wooden coasters on thge planet. You gotta go there. You wont be Disapointed

Click to view member photoThis was my first vistit to a non-corporate park (other than Bpoll PB - which i would call simi-corp). I loved the fact that they are not trying to sell you stuff at every oppertunity. I LOVED the no smoking rule, and the two coasters are fantastic. They do, however, need to work on the line at Legend, need a couple more 'big rides' and re-write the realy annoying speils at the coasters.

Overall Holiday World is a must-visit park, although you may be disapointed by the limited ride selection, the coasters realy make up for it!

Holiday World is located in Santa Clause, Indiana and despite what some people say, it is located an hour and twenty minutes away from Louisville, not one hour. Holiday World claims to be the first theme park, but any intelligent enthusiast who knows a thing or two about history can tell you that Sea Life Park, which opened at Coney Island in NYC in the late 1800's was the first theme park. Sea Life Park had a marine theme. Misleading claims dealt with, Holiday World is limited in its collection of rides. There is no adult sized carousel here. There is also no ferris wheel. Of the 128 amusement parks I have been to, I rank Holiday World last on my list. I was bored to tears within an hour of my first visit.

Were i live in southern Indiana, If you dont want to travel far your main choice for theme parks are: Six Flags Kentucky Kingom, or Holiday World. I would chose Holiday World every time!!

It has been voted the Friendliest and Cleanest park for a babillion years.

It does not have a lot of coasters, but the three they have amount to 5,000 roller coasters. The water park is the SECOND best in the WORLD.

I dont know what the BEST is but it must be pretty good. So matter where you live Holiday World is the best place ever.
