Wildfire - Review

Silver Dollar City

Ride Facts and Info

A B&M; sit-down looper with five inversions. This coaster has a great location on the side of the hill, and the station is nicely themed. The outside part of the queue (which rarely fills) is nicely shaded, and the inside part has some interesting theming.

Ride Layout

As the train departs the station, a light mist is sprayed out above the train. The train then takes a quick right-hand turn before beginning its 120-foot climb up the lift. There's a left-hand turn after the lift, before a 155-foot drop. The train then enters a Diving Loop, which is followed by a Vertical Loop followed and then a Cobra Roll; which is where the on-ride photo is located. There is then a small turn that leads into a Corkscrew, followed by a turnaround up and onto the brake run.

Ride Evaluation

Wildfire is very short, smooth, and moderately intense, but not as intense as I had hoped it to be! There are two trim brakes on the ride, one at the bottom of the first drop, and the other after the Vertical Loop; although I'm not sure if the are used or not.

The first drop is quite steep, and features some airtime in the back seat.

The Diving Loop is quite disorientating in the front seat due to the location on the hillside, and it actually feels a lot higher than it is.

Wildfire is a good ride, and an excellent addition to SDC. If you've never ridden a B&M; looping coaster before then you're in for a real treat, otherwise it's nothing too out of the ordinary!
