Currently my favorite ride at the park, Dragster packs one big punch in 17 seconds. The launch is fierce, the climb is exciting, and cresting over the hill provides a great view of the park, and anticipation of whether you are going to make it over the top of hill (which it frequently doesn't). The spiraling drop in the front seat gives you a great view, and freefalling feeling. The ride is very short, but it provides far more thrills than most 3 minute rides. This is a ride that I would want to ride every time I visit Cedar Point, whereas most of the other coasters I could quite happily give a miss.
This ride opened as the tallest and fastest roller coaster, but was beaten by Kingda Ka at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, which is 450 feet tall; having ridden Kingda Ka a few days before I actually prefer it as it is higher and more intense. However, Dragster benefits form being smoother, and only having lapbar restraints. Both rides leave me with a wow feeling and you always feel like you want to talk about your experience on the ride afterwards, which I think is a good thing.
One drawback is that the ride is extremely unreliable, the first time I visited the park it was closed all day, the second time it opened 1 hour 30 minutes late due to problems, the third time it was only loading the first 3 rows, and the fourth time it opened nearly two hours late after 5 failed launches and 20 successful test runs. My advice would be to ride later in the day when the ride has warmed up and is loading full trains; otherwise the line will be extremely long. However, doing this you run the risk of it shutting down completely and forfeiting a ride altogether.
