Colossus, Six Flags Magic Mountain - Review

Colossus - Review

Six Flags Magic Mountain

I only wish I could have ridden this when it first opened! It was supposed to have loads of airtime, that much in fact, the occasional rider would get ejected from their seat, and plummet to their death.

Okay, so the ride did need taming, but not destroying! It seems every year this ride becomes slower and less thrilling. Colossus was the largest woodie when it first opened, and it's still the largest in the west. Why on Earth they made it twin track I don't know, because I've never seen the thing racing, and it hardly ever runs both tracks. They run one train backwards during Fright Fest and that sounds like it would be fun.

The ride is not bad but it has very little airtime and apart from the first drop it is rather slow and boring. Fortunately the lines are very rarely long so it's always worth a ride.
