    Bottons Pleasure Beach - Review

Review by: Webmaster | Last update: 21-Jan-2002 | Based on 2 visits between 08/02-07/06

Located on the Skegness sea front, Bottons Pleasure Beach is situated on the former site of Butlins. Admission to the park is free, and tokens or a wristband can be purchased to experience the rides. The park is like a small static funfair, with several carnival style flat rides, three family roller coasters, and a more adult roller coaster known as Rockin Roller.

Bottons is open weekends from early March, Easter Week, and May Day Bank Holiday, and daily from Spring Bank Holiday until the end of September. It is also open weekends in October up to and including half term week.

The park is probably a great cheap fun afternoon out for kids, but is by all means not a destination park. If you're visiting nearby Fantasy Island, then you have to stop off at Bottons just to get the coaster credits. If you don't expect much, you'll probably be able to have a good laugh at the park, especially the cheesy Ghost Train where everything is out of time, and the atrocious simulator where I had to bang on the door to get out because I was soooo bored!

    Ideas for Improvements
  • Trade in Storm for a Wild Mouse (they did this in 2006).
  • Add some modern flat rides.
    Bottons Pleasure Beach Tips
  • Ride all day wristbands can be purchased (about £9)After 5pm they are discounted (about £6).
  • If you just want to ride the coasters once and nothing else, then you'd be better off buying tokens.
